Adopt-A-Highway

Our church has recently become part of the "Adopt-A-Highway" Program in Welcome. We feel that this is a great way to give back to the community, in which we are a part of.

As a church, we are responsible for 2.7 miles of Highway 52, which runs through Welcome. We usually meet to accomplish this goal the 5th Saturday of the month (usually 4 times a year). For more information, please call or email Pastor Avery.

We hope that you will join with us as we try to reach our community!

Booster Choir

We are exhorted in Psalm 100:1 to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" and we are doing just that!

The children come on Sunday nights, eager to lift their voices in song to the Lord. Singing is such a basic skill that can be developed by anyone, and we are eager as leaders to help the children develop their voices, while encouraging them to worship as they do so, and to recognize the importance of leading others to worship.

The choir includes children from 3-9 years of age.

God has blessed us with many wonderful talents and it's great to see how much talent rests within our children. We will continue to make a joyful noise so that others will see through us the One who is worthy of all our praise!

Children's Ministries

We will be starting "Patch the Pirate" this year for 4 year olds all the way through 6th grade.

These programs are fun-filled and exciting, with their core based upon the Bible, Biblical Living and a daily and practical application that your child will be able to understand. Each child will have his or her own book to do daily devotions, prayer requests and verse memorization. There is also an area in which your child can do individual and group Christian Service activities.

These are very exciting groups that are fun and build strong Christian character. Please join us on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Family Life Center!

Nursery Ministry

We are so excited to have a new "double nursery" to offer you and your children! We have our nursery divided for those who are "pre-walkers" and "walkers". This is to insure that babies are well taken care of and have a safe place to play and crawl. To further insure the safety of our precious little ones, we are requesting that only the assigned nursery worker for that service be in the nursery. This is to provide stability for the children, peace of mind for the parents as well as our visitors and for liability reasons.

We are pleased to offer a Parent's Room where the old nursery was located at the bottom of the back staircase. This is for parents who would like to stay with their children during the service or nursing moms. This room is equipped with a bathroom, changing table and a video feed from the service.

We are attempting to provide a facility that everyone will be comfortable leaving their children in and be able to participate in the service with peace of mind. We are thankful that the Lord has blessed us with a new nursery and a "full" nursery of children to learn about Him!

We look forward to meeting you and your baby.

Prayer

"Pray for one another...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16

We believe that the work of the Lord only comes about through prayer. We offer a time of prayer before each of our services on Sunday. Sunday evenings at 5:45 pm in prayer rooms to come together in unity to pray for the upcoming service and needs throughout our church. We have a separate prayer rooms for men, women on Sunday evening.

Our greeters would be happy to assist you in finding our Prayer Rooms.

Prison Ministry

The men of our church have had the privilege of ministering to inmates throughout our region for many years.

Meetings at the Davidson County Correctional Center are on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm. The Van leaves the church at 6:30 pm.

The ministry involves prayer, witnessing and delivering a message from the Bible and singing. Much fruit has been seen from the labor through the years.

Come and join us in this exciting ministry.

Rest Home Ministry

This is a ministry for those "young at heart"!

We meet on the first Monday night of each month at 7:00pm at Alston-Brooks to minister to the residents there through singing, sharing and developing friendships. This is such an encouraging ministry for those who participate. This group is led by Jim Perryman and Dicky Talbert.

Sunday School Class

Berean Bible Class

Each Sunday morning at 10:00am, an Adult Sunday School class is held in the main sanctuary to help enable Christians to live a more Godly life. Jim Bates and Tim Cox lead this class and bring practical ways to live Godly in our everyday life.

Come and join us!

Doer's Sunday School Class

Each Sunday morning at 10:00am, an Adult Sunday School class is held to help fulfill our commitment of equipping men and women. Dicky Talbert provides the leadership for this class.

The vision of this Sunday School class is not to just come on Sundays to "hear" the word, but to be a "doer" of what is taught. They meet on a regular basis throughout the week to provide practical help to those in our community who may need it. If you want to put into practice what you have been taught, this is the class for you!

Modular Class

Dr. Frank Patterson teaches the modular class that allows anyone from any class to come and study a specific subject for the module of 3 months and then jump back into their normal Sunday school class.

College and Career

College and Career age adults are invited to this interactive Sunday School that deals with the often difficult situations that are thrust upon the Christian from day to day.

Brother Dustin Beck tackles the issues of living a Godly life in an ungodly world and the challenges and answers from the Word of God.

Come join them in the Family Life Center on Sunday Mornings at 10:00am.

Teens

Teens meet in the Family Life Center with Brother Tim TIlley as their teacher. Brother Tim has a real love for the teens and has been involved with young people for many years.

Children's

We have Sunday School for children of all ages!

Special Messengers

Our Special Messengers Ministry is directed to an often forgotten population of our country. The Special Messengers are men and women with Developmental Handicaps , but they have an enthusiasm to learn about and praise the Lord.

Mrs. Nancy Hege, Mrs. Wilma Leonard, and Ms. Glenda Smith teach, and love the Special Messengers every Sunday morning starting at 10 am in the Special Messengers classroom down stairs in the Main Sanctuary.

Every summer we have an exciting Special Messengers Vacation Bible School and a Christmas Party in December.

If you or a family member has "special" needs, come join the Special Messengers!

Teen Ministry

The Teen ministry exists to train our high school aged young people to become more mature in their walk with Christ in an environment that encourages them through worship, Biblical training, connecting, service, and outreach. This group meets at the following times:

Sundays at 10am: Sunday School

Wednesdays at 7:00pm: Youth Group

During these strategic times our high school students are challenged to think "pro-actively" to grow in their faith by not being merely hearers, but "doers of the Word".

Many ministry outreach opportunities exist through our activities. The focus of the activities are to be servants of Christ while challenging the body, soul and spirit.

Brother Tim Tilley is our Youth Director and he has a definite heart for God and the young people.

Van Ministry

We would like everyone to be aware of our van ministry!

On Wednesday nights we now have from 13 to 17 children and teens attending because of God blessing our church and allowing us to offer this opportunity to our community.

Please try to find time to get to know these children and be there to help them if needed. Through the lives of the children we may be able to touch their parents lives as well.

You may know of someone who has no license or vehicle who would love to come and worship at church but can't because of transportation issues. If you know of someone who would benefit from this ministry, please contact the church staff.

Be sure to add this ministry to your daily prayer list and be sure to give God the honor, praise and thanks for guiding us in all that we do.
